It was here in the Hampshire countryside, at Southwick House, that Winston Churchill worked alongside General Eisenhower to plan the D-Day landings that would go on to liberate Europe.
Just a few miles away, in the Hampshire village of Droxford, Churchill and his War Cabinet secretly met aboard an armoured train after visiting the troops preparing for the invasion, boosting morale ahead of the largest amphibious operation in history.
Hampshire played its part in one of the most important moments in modern history.
And now the Bank of England is plotting to remove Churchill from our £5 note and replace him with a badger.
